Project Details
GEX is intended to be a next generation decentralised global entertainment sharing and streaming platform. Connecting creators and users without the impairment of targeted and compulsory advertising. Using blockchain, distributed ledger and smart contract technology GEX is setting new standards in how content is distributed and valued by applying an open market to value content on a global scale.
Problems
The GEX ecosystem addresses many issues within the industry which have created an unbalanced environment, leaning less towards creators and users. When developing and designing our unique ecosystem we focused on
- lack of trust and transparency by platforms with their users;
- targeted and compulsory advertising, impairing user experiences;
- monetisation models which devalue creator content and social worth;
- excessive middlemen between creators and users;
- no truly immersive entertainment experience for users to enjoy in one place;
Background
GEX was not an overnight thought, it is the creation of one of the Evynce Founders with 20+ years experience in the entertainment industry both in Australia and abroad. During this time he has headed an Australian public company involved in production and distribution, written and produced content, managed talent from models to actors, created and managed live events and created a premium collectables company that has been in operation for over twenty years with a global client base.
Throughout his career he has witnessed the conversion from VHS to DVD to Streaming and the introduction to Social Media. He has had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented people, groups and companies showcasing the whole content value chain. Unfortunately he has also witnessed the decline of the content value chain with monetisation models which constantly devalue creator content and social worth.
Today, major companies are commencing their decline, shareholder value is falling and the monetisation of creator income via advertising is failing. User experiences are being impaired by targeted and compulsory advertising, creators are walking away as effort for reward is not present and finally the advertisers that once drove profits to these platforms are starting to doubt the space, leaving companies trying to work out new ways to boost shareholder profits.
GEX as a platform has been in development for several years, some could argue over twenty, and is a collaborative effort in that over twenty years many real lives have contributed to the very core of its being. We give creators and users what others have not to date.
